Mass Casualty Incident — a situation where casualties overwhelm local resources and triggers external evacuation support.
MCIs (natural disasters, industrial accidents, terror incidents) generate sudden demand for aeromedical evacuation that local systems cannot absorb. Private medevac and broker networks contribute additional aircraft and crew under coordination.
Insurance assistance companies and government agencies are usually the activating clients.
