Casualty evacuation — moving a casualty from the point of incident, often before definitive medical care is established.
Casevac (casualty evacuation) is the term used when patients are moved from a scene — a remote worksite, an expedition, or originally a combat environment — to the first point where structured medical care is available.
It overlaps with medevac but emphasises the front-end of the chain: extraction and stabilisation, often with limited equipment, before the patient enters a formal aeromedical transfer.
