Fixed Base Operator — a private terminal at an airport, used by private and air ambulance flights for fast, discreet processing.
FBOs handle ramp services, fuel, customs and immigration for private aircraft. Medevac missions use FBOs because they enable direct ramp access for ground ambulances and avoid the delays of commercial terminals.
FBO choice matters at sensitive destinations: ramp side, customs flexibility and 24/7 staffing all affect mission timing.
