Deductible

The portion of an insured claim the policyholder pays before the insurer's cover applies.

Travel and expat policies covering medical repatriation usually carry a deductible, though high-cost evacuations often exceed it by a wide margin. The deductible applies to the total claim including hospital, transport and incidentals.

We invoice the insurer or assistance company directly under a GOP wherever cover is confirmed; the deductible is settled between policyholder and insurer.
