Also known as: Medical Information Form
Medical Information Form — a standard form completed by a treating doctor and submitted to the airline's medical desk.
The MEDIF captures diagnosis, current treatment, oxygen needs, mobility status and travel requirements. It is the document the airline's medical officer uses to grant medical clearance for commercial travel.
Most airlines require submission at least 48 hours before departure; some specialist routes require more notice.
