What Is CAMTS?
Also known as: Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems · CAMTS Global
The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems — the principal North American accreditation body for air and ground medical transport.
CAMTS is a non-profit commission that accredits rotor-wing, fixed-wing and ground medical transport services against published standards covering medical direction, clinical protocols, crew qualification and continuing education, equipment, communications, safety management and quality review.
Accreditation is voluntary, audited on site, and renewed on a three-year cycle. CAMTS Global applies the same framework to operators outside the United States. For a family or an insurer comparing quotes, CAMTS accreditation is a verifiable indication that the operator's clinical programme has been examined by an independent body rather than self-declared.
We confirm the accreditation status of the assigned operator with every quote, alongside the Air Operator Certificate and insurance certificates. Where an operator in a given region is not CAMTS or EURAMI accredited, we apply equivalent due diligence and say so explicitly.
