Transport incubators (Dräger, Air-Shields) are battery-powered and certified for aircraft use. They occupy a significant cabin footprint and require aircraft with sufficient cabin volume and power.

Crew configuration around the incubator typically includes a neonatologist and a specialist neonatal nurse.
